Ahanas Peace Football Tournament: Sponsor Takes Tournament Nationwide As Gee-Lec FA And Golden Boots FA Share The Spoils

The opening match of the Ahanas Peace Football Tournament between Gee-Lec International FA and Golden Boots Soccer Academy lived up to expectations as the sizeable football fans allowed into the venue of the match due to covid-19 protocols were not disappointed as they were treated to the best of football artistries by both sides.

The match, which ended in a 0-0 draw had in attendance the Plateau State Football Association Chairman, Hon. Sunday Samson Longbap and his board members.

Taking the ceremonial kickoff, the sponsor of the Ahanas Peace Football Tournament, Alhaji Abdullahi Musa, said he is sponsoring this grassroots tournament to reduce social vises and youths restiveness.

Speaking to ssimedia.com.ng: “It saddens my heart to see youths engaging themselves in thuggery, drugs, all sorts of criminality instead of getting themselves occupied with something positive that can make their lives better, that’s why am sponsoring this competition and am ready to make it four times in a year event just to always keep them busy.”

Alhaji Abdullahi Musa continues: “Since football knows no religion, race, colour and tribe, I believe it’s a venture that is worth it. And since football is a tool to unite and promote peace, I’m ready to use it to the maximum in Jos, on the Plateau and Nigeria at large.”

On his own part, the Plateau State Football Association Chairman, Sunday Samson Longbap commended the sponsor and promised that his association will not stop at promoting and supporting the development of football from the grassroots level.
