DELTA 2022: KUNGFU IS PRODUCING MORE MEDALS THAN ANY OTHER SPORTS FOR PLATEAU STATE

With two more days to wrap up hostilities in Asaba, Delta State, Team Plateau keeps getting more medals, this time Kungfu contributes more.

In the final event on Kungfu, David Abdul won a bronze medal in the -63kg category.

This brings a total number of medals won by Kungfu athletes to 7, more than any other sporting event for Team Plateau.

Reacting to the bronze he won, David Abdul said “Actually I did not come for bronze, my aim was for a gold, but I will accept what happened in good faith.”

On how he found his way to Asaba to take part in Sports Festival, David Abdul said “Actually the state did not pay my transport here, I was dropped even after my training, I paid my transport to come and take part in the Sports Festival and God answered my prayer I won a bronze medal but all this while I have been taking care of all the feeding and transportation myself.”

Members of the Kungfu team won 2 Silva and 5 bronze medals for Plateau State with a total of 7, more than any other sport.

Those who won Silva medals are: Abdulrasheed Abdulazeez and Samuel Emmanuel while those that won 5 bronze medals are: Chidima Benjamin, Nkuma Obasi, David Abdul, Kehinde Adams and Anthony Ejembi.

As the Sports Festival winds down in a couple of days time, more medals are set to be won by Team Plateau athletes.
