Dreamland-Embassy Of Hungary Scouting Tournament Has A New Champion As Abraysports FC Dethrones Dreamland FA To Cart Home The Giant Trophy


Abraysports Football Club of Ilorin are the new Champions of the Dreamland-Embassy Of Hungary Scouting Tournament, beating defending champions, Dreamland FA 5-4 on penalties after a goaless regulation time score.

In a final that has some big scouts from Europe, big Nigeria football dignitaries and lovers of good football on ground, saw an end to end encounter from both sides to the delight of all in a Scouting Tournament that saw six players picked for trials abroad.

After a week long event, Victor Cletus of Dreamland FA won the the best goalkeeper award.

Emmanuel Akash of Triple Treat FA won the highest goalscorers award.

While Abiodun Omolaoye of Abraysports FC won the Most Valuable Player award..

A physically joyous and fulfilled organizer of the event, Ndudi Edede, commended all and sundry that made the event a success this year, especially the Hungarian Embassy, who according to him are no more friends or partners, but family. “I won’t be home and dry if I don’t appreciate everybody that contributed to this success, even the media, you guys have really tried alot. Am happy, the Embassy of Hungary in Abuja, they have been key partners and supportive in this project, they are always here everyday to see what’s happening and following up. I also thank them for the grand reception given on Monday during the press conference and the closing dinner. We are more than partners but family. The key word is trust, commitment and common goal and objective.”

He congratulated the new Champions but maintained the fact that the aim of the tournament is to scout for players which has been accomplished.

Next year’s edition, which will be the 10th edition, will be an anniversary event and according to the brain behind this scouting tournament, Ndudi Edede, “It will be more colourful, bigger, better and more lucrative.”
