FIFA WCC:Rabat Hosting A Possible Giant-Killing Contest


The City of Rabat would tonight host a world club cup encounter that pits African
Champions Al Ahly of Egypt against World power house Real Madrid in an encounter
that determines who joins Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia in the world Club Cup Final.

Al Ahly qualified after wins over Auckland City and Seattle Sounders in the preliminary
rounds to qualify for the Semifinals while Real Madrid on their part were given straight
passage into the Semifinals as UEFA Champions League Champions.

The match would take place at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, Morocco
at 8pm and would be handled by Uruguayan Montonte Cabrera A.M.
Los Blancos have flourished in this tournament and would be looking to continue that
fine form that have seen them win 10 and drawn 1, losing only once at this event.

Al Ahly in their part would be hoping to overcome the semifinals hurdle for first time in their history and beat their best finish which is a 3rd place finish.

Players to watch out for include Vinicius Junior who have been in fine form for his side and Camavinga that was recently rewarded the Real Madrid best player for January and Lastly Toni Kross that have won this event the most (5 times).

Al Ahly would be looking towards Mohammed Sheriff for goals owing to his hot form of 4 goals in 4 games and South African Percy Tau who is familiar with playing Real Madrid having helped his former side
(Club Brugge) with an assist in a 2-2 draw in the UEFA Champions League.
