Nigeria Minifootball Chief Coach Hails The Association For Organizing A National Championship After War Cancels The World Cup In Ukraine



Due to the face currently going on between Russia and Ukraine that has deprived the African quintet of Egypt(Champions), Libya(Runners’up), Ivory Coast, Ghana and Nigeria from participating among other countries of the world in the Minifootball World Cup earmarked for Ukraine, the country’s minifootball authority has put some talents unearthing program on ground that will be played Nationwide.

Speaking to SSI Media, the Chief Coach, Nigeria Minifootball National Team, Fabian Idaba said: “The Nigeria Minifootball General Secretary, David Adewoye, President and other Board Members have put heads together to make sure Nigeria host another African continental Championship this year, but before the Continental event, a National Championship that will involve teams from all the 36 States of Nigeria involving the Federal Capital Territory, that will bring out the best of players that will form the National team of Nigeria called the Spartans Eagles.”

Coach Fabian continues “With this step taken by the superior body of Minifootball in Nigeria, it will be very easy to pick good players that will make the Nation proud and it will also make the sport so popular in the country.”

Meanwhile, the information reaching has it that the world Cup earlier slated for this year in Ukraine will now be held in Qatar or Austria.

Either Bayelsa or Rivers State have also been penciled down to host a National Championship this year.

It would be recalled that the quintet of Egypt, Libya, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana and Nigeria will represent Africa at the World Cup.
