Plateau Bet9ja Tournaments: Samscyon, ECWA Bishara 2,Flying Stars And Young Planners Qualify As Beach FC Lead By Example

The biggest highlights in matches played on Saturday in the ongoing Plateau State Bet9ja Peace & Developmental Sports Tournament was not only the comeback, but the professionalism showed by Beach football club.

Despite been booted out and had no hope of qualifying to the knockout stage from the group stage, having no point from their two matches played with -5 goals difference, still came out and not only coming out, but came back from 2-0 down to beat erstwhile knockout hopeful, Friends United FC 3-2.
The defeat spoilt the fun and ended the qualification dream for Friends United as they left the exit door of the tournament together with Beach FC to pave the way for the duo of Samscyon FA and ECWA Bishara 2 FC in the Round of 16 from Group D.

Samscyon FA finished with 9 maximum points after winning all their group matches, beating fellow qualifiers, ECWA Bishara 2 FC 3-1 in the last group match played yesterday.

The duo of Flying Stars FA and Young Planners FC, booked their Round of 16 tickets, after overcoming Rhino FC and Rito FC 2-1 and 2-1 respectively.

It will be fight to finish in both Group E and Group H as all 8 teams still have the chance to claim the 4 tickets at stake, two from each group to sail smoothly into the Round of 16.

In Group E, table toppers and with one foot in the last 16, Ajester FA, with 6pts, who just need a point or a defeat of not more than one goal deficit to pore their knockout ticket, will have their hands full as they battle it out with a wounded defending champions, Anguldi United FC who can boast of only 3pts from two matches played. The defending champions, with +1 goals difference must win to qualify. A draw or even a loss can put them through to the knockout stage, but only if Bokkos Stars, with no point can go the way of Beach FC, beating Celtic fc with 3pts and 0 goal difference.

Group H is also an interesting one. With Henco FC dictating the pace with 6 maximum points from 2 matches played, coupled with a +2 goals difference, just need to avoid a defeat not more than one goal difference deficit against a Corinthians FC side that have 3pts with 0 goal difference. A draw will be more than enough for Corinthians FC, but provided FC Izam with zero point from 2 matches played and with -2 goals difference are able to beat Bokkos FC with 3pts and 0 goal difference.
