Both Plateau United Football Club and Mighty Jets International Football Club will renew their long time rivalries as they battle themselves out in the final of the Plateau State FA Cup after both teams sweated through the skin of their teeth to book their final tickets from the semi final stage.

In the first semi final match played at the Jos New Stadium, Plateau United FC needed the penalties lottery and the heroics of their goalkeeper, Chinedu Anozie, to oust a resilient Rahbam FC side at the semi final stage.

State FA defending champions, Plateau United FC, who rested majority of their first team players beat an impressive Rahbam FC 4-1 on penalties that saw Chinedu Anozie saving two of the penalties after the regulation time ended 0-0.

In the second semi final played at the same venue, the match between Mighty Jets International fc and Mighty Jets Feeders tagged: “Air warfare”, lived to expectations as the Jets senior needed spot kicks to despatch the junior Jets and stopped them from causing an upset.

Mighty Jets International fc led Jets Feeders 2-0 in the first 22 minutes of the first half via the boots of Anthony Effiong and Ishaku Azi in the 8th and 22nd minute.

But the Jets Feeders showed all and sundry that they meant business and can’t be walked over as they replied with two goals almost immediately by Nathaniel Aruwa who got a brace for himself.

Nathaniel Aruwa’s brace of equalizer for Jets Feeders dragged the game into penalty shootouts as the senior side, Mighty Jets International fc emerged winners, beating Mighty Jets International Feeders FC 7-6 on penalties.
