It’s crunchy time for the SSI premiership teams as the week 17 matches takes centre stage this Saturday 19th March, 2022 at the Bukuru Mini Stadium from 9:00am.

Jazzy Stars who are currently leading the pack with 40pts,failed to get any point in their week 16 encounter with Ajester FA which they scandalously lost 3-1,Will seek to redeem their image and secure the trophy in their wk 17 tie against 2nd placed Derby FA, with 35 pts,who incidentally lost 3-0 to Super Stars.

Ajester FA,3rd on the log will try to put the resurgent and bottom placed Clapai FA to the cleaners as both side lock horns in what seems like a battle of pride for Calpai, who surprisingly defeated Highland Stars 4-1 in the wk 16 encounter.

It will then be a battle of wits between 7th placed Highland Stars after their loss to Clapai and 9th J.Cadets who defeated Red Arrows 3-2 in the wk 16 tie. J.Cadets, fighting to escape the drop will go all out to give Highland Stars a run for their money.

5th & 7th placed Nestrac FA and Super Stars is another explosive match of pride.Nestrac, will avoid to drop any points against their opponents as they have already lost avoidable points. For Super Stars, they will want to consolidate on their win against the youthful Derby FA.

However, it will be a battle for survival as 8th placed Red Arrows will try their luck against free-scoring El-Spuron, who are sitting pretty at the 4th position. The coach Samuel Augustine side, who are eyeing a spot in the Super 4,has promised to go all out for the maximum points.

The SSI premiership has been described by coach Clement Maigida of Clapai FA, as the best grassroots football league that’s churning out stars for the world to see.

Coach Clement further stated that *’the SSI premiership has actually helped unearth hidden talents from the grassroots for the world to see as evident in number of scouts that have come to pick players from the league*.

The week 18 matches which bring the league phase to an end continues next week before the Super 4.
