As we patiently await the resumption of the action packed and mouthwatering second half of the SSI Premiership this Saturday, we take a cursory look into the Goal stats of the league so far with some incredible records.

From the opening match Day 1 streamedlive between Derby Academy and Elspuron F.A (That ended 1-0 in favour of Derby FA, off the boot of Musa Dino) to week 9’s last game, between Red Arrows FA and Nestrac F.A(which ended in a 2-1 win for Nestrac F.A), every match day in the first half of the league brought up some interesting games with great and breathtaking goals.

Enjoy some of the following records put together:

  1. A total of 153 goals have been scored so far in all 44 games played in the first round of the SSI Premiership.
  2. The highest scoring sides are Ajester F.A and Jazzy Stars F.A with 21 goals in 9 games each.
  3. The least scoring side is Clapai Stars F.A. They have been able to score just a meagre 7 goals in 9 games played.
  4. Shamshudeen Usman of Elspuron FA Is the only player to score a hattrick in the first round of the league.
  5. Only 1 own goal was recorded in the first round; and it’s by Paul Malau of Highland Stars F.A, netting for Clapai Stars F.A.
  6. Derby Academy are the only side to score 5 goals in a single game in their week 6 game against Clapai Stars F.A.
  7. The two match weeks that have produced the highest number of goals have been week 4 and week 8 with 21 goals each. While week 9 could produce just 11 goals in 5 games.
  8. The first half have seen 36 wins and 8 draws with Elspuron F.A being involved in 4 draws the highest number, with Superstars F.A second on 3.
  9. The league have had just 2 goalless draws so far, all coming in week 9 with Derby FA drawing Ajester and Elspuron holding league leaders(Jazzy Stars FA) to a goalless draw.
  10. Derby Academy have 11 different goalscorers closely followed by Nestrac FA with 10. Clapai Stars have the least number with 5.
  11. 17 penalties have been given with 11 scored, and 6 missed.
  12. Just 2 goalkeepers have been able to save a penalty kick. Highland Stars FA’s Austin Dikko and Igba Daniel of Nestrac F.A.
  13. J Cadets F.A have been the highest recipient of penalties with 4 and have conceded 0. Making them the only team not to conceded a penalty in the league so far and the only team to score 3.
  14. Highland FA conceded 4 penalties and received 0, a direct opposite to J Cadets FA.
  15. Derby Academy’s Benjamin Jatau, Kamalu Salisu of Ajester F.A and Kim Pwajok of Elspuron F.A are the 3 players to score from freekicks.
  16. Only J. Cadet FA have gone through 9 match days scoring at least a goal per week.
  17. Chukwuemeka Paul(Derby Academy), Junior Chuwang (J Cadets FA) and Patrick Peter (Nestrac FA)are the highest scoring defenders with 2 goals each.
